Almost-Inconceivable
We almost-never do this, but every once in a while we let our minds wander toward the inconceivable. They hardly ever get that far, of course. We usually stop short of actually thinking about the inconceivable, and instead find ourselves pondering the almost-inconceivable.
Types/Categories
1. Known-unknown (possible): That which we don't know but what we know is possible to know. (The possibility of space-aliens.)
2. Known-unknown (almost-certainly impossible): That which we don't know but what we know is unlikely. (Things that seem logically impossible.)
3. Unknown-unknown (possible): That about which we don't even know that we don't know. (When you can't get there from here because you have to get somewhere else first, and you haven't even got that far. Something you may think of later.)
Notes
The two following categories would not fall into the realm of the almost-inconceivable:
A. The Known: That which exists, has existed, or is known to be possible.
B. The Inconceivable: That about which we don't even know that we don't know, and can't possibly imagine.
