Almost-Democratic
The ancient ones prescribed a pretty-good form of government called "Representative Democracy," where the representatives decide almost-everything about people's lives, . . . for everyone's convenience. Periodically, people got to vote for their representatives (to keep things almost fair).
Types/Categories:
At first, voting was somewhat restricted. Later, new types and categories of those who could vote were added.
Examples:
At first, white male land-owners.
Then, other races.
Then, women.
Then, corporations.
Then, those with names short enough to fit on a mail-in ballot.
Then, other countries.
And soon: smart things, and stuff . . .
